Helping Grandma with her Air Conditioner

There seems to be a lot of responsibilities associated with being a grandson. I never really noticed them until I was an adult and my grandmother depended on me to help her around her house. I suppose it started innocently enough, but the tasks assigned to me gradually increased to the point where it seemed that I was over there on a daily basis. In fact, I was over there today to help her with her air conditioner.

I don’t know why grandma thinks that I would know the first thing about air conditioners, but she seems to think I am an expert at just about everything. I suppose that I should be flattered, but sometimes when she puts me on the pedestal that she does, it can be quite overwhelming. Just last week, she thought I could fix her thirty year old fridge. I didn’t fix it in the way she was hoping as I just ran out to the store and bought a new one. It solved the problem I guess, but she really needs to know that I am no miracle worker.

So today, I was summoned over to her house to take a look at her air conditioner. Since I am as good with air conditioners as fridges, I made a quick call to a company that specialized in air conditioner service Henderson to see if they could come over and help me out. Thankfully they had a cancellation, and were able to meet me at grandma’s and we were able to get everything fixed.

I know that I will sleep well tonight knowing that grandma has her air conditioner again. I just don’t look forward to what problems tomorrow will bring for grandma and how I will solve them. I could really use a break.
